NEW - Downtown Raffle Mania - participating Downtown Cadillac stores will post NASF Rafflemania Prize Winners Friday & Saturday, look for the postings, find your raffle number and win a prize from that store - must be present to win.
Evening Entertainment at the Cadillac Armory each night will include a DJ, contests and vendors, check back as details are finalized they will be posted here.
NEW - Downtown Snowmobile Parking - there will be parking just off of Lake Cadillac, south of the Pavilion to enable participants to park off of the lake, this is not a staging area.

Silent Observer/WTCM Chili Cook-Off—the official “kickoff” event to the NASF every year, the Chili Cook-off pits area restaurants against each other in the quest for the perfect bowl. Using a secret system, the entries are all identified by letter. Our Silent Observer volunteers serve it up to the judges. The winner is the entry who receives the most votes. Anyone with a NASF button is encouraged to participate, but get there early, because the chili doesn’t last long! Everything starts at 6:00 p.m. The winner receives the traveling trophy and bragging rights for a year. Contact for participating restaurants is Amanda @ 231-775-9776 or Mike Paulin @ 231-775-5882.

Miss NASF - Sponsored by Mix 96. Reigning 2011 Queen Miss Cadillac NASF Alannah Dettloff is proud to be the face for this year’s Miss NASF Pageant. The 2012 Miss Cadillac NASF Pageant participants will be judged in the categories of Casual Wear, Winter Wear, Evening Wear and a Question from a Judge. The winner will reign over the festival throughout the weekend, appear at various community events throughout the year, and will also play a crucial role in working with the next year’s (2013) pageant contestants. The pageant, held on February 02, at 8:00pm in the Cadillac Armory.
Miss NASF Contestants - You will be judged on (4) categories; casual wear, winter wear, evening wear and question by one of our esteemed panel of judges. The winner will walk away with a $500 grand prize, crown, and sash. The first runner up will receive a cash prize, tiara, and sash. All of the contestants will receive a gift for participating. If you are interested in being part of the 2012 Miss Cadillac NASF Pageant and you’re between the ages of 18 and 24, you can download Miss NASF App here, or you can contact us on FaceBook: “Miss Cadillac North American Snow Festival ." New - Cross Country Skiing & Snowshoeing by Moonlight - 7-9pm - at the Carl T Johnson Hunting & Fishing Center.
Fun Run – Coordinated by the Cadillac Winter Warriors. Feeling lucky? Ready to ride? Join in the fun run! You need just $5 to participate and you don’t have to own a snowmobile. Sponsors of this event are our very own Cadillac Winter Warriors. Start at one of the designated registration points before 2:00 pm, buy a card (or several) and you’re ready to roll. Hit any of the other 20 stops, by car or by sled, collecting cards along the way. You can make as many stops as you want. When you check in at the Cadillac Armory at 5:30 pm, exchange the cards to get a maximum of eight playing cards and make your best possible poker hand. Lots of prizes will be handed out. Participants will be awarded for best 5-card poker hand. Must be present to win. You must register at one of the OFFICAL points to receive your card.

NEW - Carl T Johnson Hunting & Fishing Center
NEW - Snowman Building Contest -10:00 to 3:00 at the Johnson Center. Build a snowman on the Center grounds and register inside the Center. Prizes will be awarded shortly after 3:00. Coffee, hot chocolate and bonfire throughout the day.
Lake Races - Sponsored by J & D Marine. The lake races are one of the favorite events at the NASF, because they are exciting for both racers and spectators. FOUR 1200 foot long lanes are partitioned off in the middle of Lake Cadillac and racers will go head to head from 10:00 am-4:00 pm Saturday and Sunday. Registration begins at 10:00 am. Participants must be 16 or older with a driver’s license and a full size sled. They must also buy a $5 NASF button and pay a $15 fee for each day of racing. Participants must sign a waiver and ride at their own risk. This event is dependent on the ice conditions.
Kids Races— Sponsored by the Cadillac Winter Warriors. Younger riders aren’t left out at the NASF! They have their own oval course to ride on Lake Cadillac. The smallest sledders go head to head in the Kiddie Cat division, the next group up is the 120’s. If some competitors have modified sleds, they will ride in their own race. Registration runs from 10:30-11:45, the races kick off at Noon. This event is sponsored by Dan Wiese of the Cadillac Winter Warriors @ 231-779-1210. Every participant will take home a prize! Ages 4 -12
Ice Fishing Tournament— Sponsored by Pilgrims Village & Fox Motors. Anglers of all ages are invited to participate in the Ice fishing tournament. Prizes will be awarded for the largest Northern Pike, Walleye, Bluegill (Sunfish), Crappie, Perch and Rock Bass. Weigh in starts 2:00pm and promtly ends at 3:30pm. Fish will be measured by length, but ties will be determined by weight. If the weight is a tie, then a coin toss will determine the winner. Every participant must have an NASF button, and register at one of the three sponsors: MC Sports, Pilgrim Village Fishing Shop or Schafer’s Bait and Sporting Goods.
Registration will open January 3, until close at 10:00am on Saturday, February 5. Fishing starts at 8:00am on Saturday. Fish must be caught from Lake Cadillac or Mitchell before 3:00 pm. After the winners are recognized, many other prizes will be given registered participants present at the Cadillac Junior High Cafeteria starting at 3:30pm. This event is dependent on ice conditions. Antique Snowmobile Show — From the ugliest sled to the most miles traveled, the “oldies but goodies” will be awarded during the Antique and Vintage Snowmobile show. The antique sleds date back to 1968 and before. The vintage category includes snowmobiles from 1969-1974. Judges will vote for all categories like antique original, antique restored, classic 1975 - 1980, custom, vintage original, vintage restored, vintage mini-sled, best sled/sleigh Combo and farthest travled. Spectators will be able to cast a ballot for their choice as best in show. Signup for this event begins at 9:00 am in front of the Armory on Linden Street. Participants only need a $5 NASF button to participate. Trophies will be awarded for all categories at 3:00 pm after the lake ride. Collectors can also ride in the lake races for free, and bring any of their spare parts for a swap meet. Contact Moose Nelson for more information @ 231-429-4338.
Oasis Polar Dip— Not for the faint of heart, but brave souls can bear it all for a great cause! A tradition embraced by Northern Michiganders, the Polar Dip involves cutting a hole in the ice of Lake Cadillac and sending dippers into the freezing cold waters! Entry fee is $20. The Cadillac Area OASIS/Family Resource Center organizes this benefit every year. This is a fundraiser for OASIS and participants are encouraged to raise money by obtaining sponsors. All dippers receive a Polar Dip sweatshirt for their participation. All proceeds go to OASIS/Family Resource Center, a private, non-profit community based agency serving victims of domestic and sexual violence. So, take the plunge for a good cause on the North side of Lake Cadillac! Registration begins at 1 pm. The dip begins at 2 pm. Children under 18 must be accompanied by a parent. All participants and spectators must have an NASF button at the cost of $5.00. NASF buttons are available throughout the Cadillac area and at the event. Parade of Lights—Join the Cadillac Winter Warriors to light up the night! Anyone with a snowmobile is invited to meet on the East Side of Lake Cadillac at 5:30 pm by the City Docks. The more people who get involved, the more impressive the parade, so grab your sled and go! Bill Bradfield will lead the parade this year. He is looking for at least 30+ snowmobilers to assist with the parade. (e-mail him above)
At 10:00pm Saturday night, there will be four winners. One will become the Grand Prize winner of $3000 in cash! Another will win $1000 First Prize, and two will win $500 Second Prizes. The ticket stub attached to your $5 NASF button enters you in the drawing.
NASF Information Center (During Festival) - primary information will be available at the Cadillac Armory and at the Cadillac Area Visitors Bureau office. The Armory is located next to the Cadillac Area High School, north of Lake Cadillac shoreline, at 415 Haynes Street. The Cadillac Area Visitors Bureau is located at 201 N. Mitchell Street, east of the City Offices, West of the Cadillac News. A map of the event locations will be posted in January here.

Safari Run - This round trip leads south west of Cadillac winding through the U.S. National Forests and State Lands to Club 37 a restaurant and bar on M-37 near Wolf Lake.
